Many kinds of stereotypical attitudes exist in our society that not only affects people’s life but also a big hindrance in the developmental process. Stereotypes can be associated with anything from gender, race, caste and health issues. Very common stereotypes is about women that they are weak or talk a lot, they can’t drive and can’t able to do job. Household chores or home based jobs are the only thing left for them in small towns. Although, women’s of today have not only the ability of sewing or making hand-made decorative items. They can also join offices and participate more effectively, because in today’s tight economic plight man power is the only thing that can help in expeditious development.
Stereotypes about Health Issues:
People avoid treating some of the ailments or avoid meeting with the person who is suffering from any disease. Like aid patients, if someone is an aid patient his food, clothes are detached from other house members. That person is downloadalready in trauma and these kinds of stereotypical attitudes kill him before death. Instead of giving love and care they are spurned. Another problem is self-medication (totkas). Some people abstain from doctor until they reach an extreme position. Some of the folk treatments work well while others just ruin life.
Stereotype about Caste, Race:
In every country human beings differ in caste, color. And, some of the so called illiterate people assume that the people belongs to this caste are tight-fisted (sheikh), pathans are stupid, shias are disputed etc. many other wrong assumptions are also made on the basis of caste, race but everything is totally paradoxical; many renowned people are so intelligent and popular like Shahid Afridi, Imran khan they all are pathans. And, angry can be any person so why we call shias fighters?
Gender Stereotype:
Men are considered so strong in terms of physique and emotions. They are taught not to cry because you are a guy and girls weep not boys. When they grew older they want to cry but being strong is the only choice they have. Exasperation is the only way through which they can release tension and gloom.images (1)
All these attitudes are that we see regularly the people who are illiterate not only do this but educated class is also part of it. Stereotypes are a big deterrent in a country’s development because when people don’t treat their patients then the participation is less and quantity of bread earners decrease. Discrimination on the part of gender is also a big obstacle in countries. Those in which both male and female works equally are more progressive. Women’s role in socio-economic development is very fundamental for any country.

Stereotypical attitudes need attention of individuals if thinking is changed then change in a country can come, and a country can move on the path of success. Awareness regarding these issues should be given through social and electronic media. So that Pakistan can compete with others instead of sticking in these discussions.
