What makes all of the universe a bright and lively place? Colours off course. Various hues and tones when combined together give such an amazing and startling appearance to the world and leaves one absorbed in the aura of colours. Like different people and environments, colours also have their own meaning and aura and can tell a lot about a person and their moods. And when we talk about the hues and shades, how can the fashion world be left behind. From the dark and bold tones to neutrals, pastels, neons and bright floral colours, the fashion world covers it all in a very inspiring and elegant manner.
What colour a person is wearing and with what colour they compliment it with, tells a lot about the choice and personality of a person and also has immense effect on their moods and their aura which surrounds them. Whether you are going for an interview, office, school, party, a family gathering or are spending a lazy Sunday cuddled up in your bed with a cup of coffee, the colour you are wearing will more or less definitely reflect and effect your mood. Psychologists believe that the colours you like or consider your favorites tell the type of ideas and activities you like to do. Red: It is said when in doubt, wear Red. And that is not something I will deny. Red is a bold colour which portrays warmth, love but also firmness and boldness. In Asian weddings, red is a popular and most worn colour, especially by the bride as it reflects love, passion and enhances the beauty of the wearer. It is emotionally a very intense colour and is best for a romantic dinner or vacation. For formal office wear to casual college wear, a tinge of red blended with some other neutral colour will complete the look and compliment one’s appearance.
White: White is the colour of purity, calmness and loyalty. It is also the reason that most of the Western and European brides prefer white on their big day. It reflects elegance and is ideal for almost every occasion combined with the right hue and accessories (pearls to name one). Also known to portray innocence, white is suitable and compliments all age groups and both genders.
Black: I would also say ‘When i doubt, wear Black’ because black is, among very few colours, the colour for every occasion too. It portrays power, confidence, sophistication and elegance. Even with blending it with any other hue, it balances itself well with every personality and looks good on all body types and tones. From interviews to daily office/college wear, evening functions, wedding or even a funeral, black covers all occasions with such elegance that one never doubts wearing black. Its the colour of mystery, and mystery always has a charm. 😉
Blue: Also known as the colour of coolness, tranquility and masculinity, blue is a favorite of both genders but is especially associated with men and masculine qualities like authority, security and contentment. When worn with different colours from yellow, orange, pink to black white grey and patsels, it gives a different meaning every time but promising a look worth carrying.
Purple: The colour of royalty, dignity, rarity and creativity, purple is chosen mostly for especial occasions like official dinners, weddings, prom, romantic evenings etc. Purple is again a very promising and powerful colour and gives you a neat formal appearance.
Green: Green is the colour of nature and reflects warmth, liveliness, freshness, youth and hope. Best worn on casual college days to camping trips, active weekends or visiting the farm, green promises an uplift of the mood and promotes peace. also the colour of understabding and tolerance, green is a warm and and lively addition to your wardrobe.
Brown: Brown is a very safe and earthy colour and portrays reliability, and coziness. Suitable for every occasion and every day, brown can be your ideal choice for warm as wellas cold weather.
Yellow: Yellow is also known as the happy colour as it reflects brightness, optimism, happiness and enlightenment. a tinge of yellow blended with some other colour will go perfect for your happy occasions.
