It is true that latest technologies have made our life easy but at the same time it has destroyed our beautiful cultures. Now we are not even feeling that we are ending our cultures and totally merged into technologies. No doubt it is important that we should have batter understanding about technology because in this way we can progress and can meet the world. But it doesn’t mean at all that we forget our culture. It is truly said that a nation who forget its culture the world will forget that nation.
We have a beautiful culture of CHAOPAL in the villages; people come there in routine and discussed the politics, quarrels and light gossip of the day. But now this trend is going dim because people prefer to see television at home. At first our those relatives who are away from us wait patiently for Eid and other traditional festivals to come back there home and meet with family and friends.
But now Skype and face book end this wait also. Even marriages on internet are a trend now. In near past we had a culture of Eid greeting cards on EID _UL_ FITTER. And now we just type a massage for EID and send to all contacts. Same situation with the wedding card culture we invite our friends and relatives by a phone call.
In our family system here is come a big change due to over use of these technologies. We have no time to sit with our family like Europeans. If we are physically present with them but still using mobiles, tablets so mentally we are absent, in result we are away from our family.
Parents’ attitude toward their children is also changed; they feel proud when tablets and cell phones are in hands of their child instead of interesting informative historical books.
One has rightly said that you don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture just get people to stop reading them.
Story telling is a best way to convey our culture generation to generation. We can tell folk stories and can tell about our Heroes. But this culture is also get dead due to shortage of time because no one has time to listen. Active games that can be obviously played outside of home are not supported today but preferred to play games on computer and on video players so eye sight and other physical problems are diagnosed.
Excess of everything is bad we knew it very well but still we are doing this with us and our culture. No doubt that we should have knowledge about the latest and fast technology. But for positive purpose we should use this technology in a normal way and don’t always get blind before a thing and do a big irresistible loss for coming generations. Another bad habit of our society is that they fell shame if they use any thing that is relevant to our culture other people will say you are not modern, you are backward. Every nation has a culture and they value it then why we feel shame and embarrassment.
Things like this should ignore. And we need to be refined. We need to be balance in culture and to use latest technology. What happens to our beautiful culture if we behave like this? I am not talking too much but its reality that we are going to end shared experience and shared thoughts. And this is a great threat to us, should have to think about before it’s too late
As Edvered Marriot said: ‘Culture is what is left, when everything else is forgotten’.
