Things to use for gift wrapping
I am one of those people who not only love getting presents but also giving presents and gifts to other people. I think one of the things which make us different than the other mammals and creatures of the animal kingdom is our ability to show our love and care in the form of many different cute little gestures. Gifting things to each other is one such action. There are so many events happening in today’s world from mother’s day to friendship day and Eid and Christmas and other fun festivals at relating to religion and culture and traditions. In fact one doesn’t even need a festival or a specific day to give someone something nice.
In this article we will explore different items that we can use to decorate our presents and gifts. It is a common observation that if you decorate a thing nicely, it appears to be more attractive and thus gets to become more desirable. Even if you gift someone a tiny little keychain, if you wrap it up nicely, it will make a huge difference and will earn you some great points in the eyes of the receiver. So let us see what things to use for gift wrapping to make them look really awesome.
Ribbons
My personal favourite are the ribbons. I always have a bunch of different coloured ribbons stashed in my craft box that I use to wrap the presents for my loved ones. What you can do as well is to buy a few different coloured and sized ribbons from any clothing or stationery shop and keep them with you. Combined with our other tips, these ribbons would complete the look of your gift.
Newspaper/magazine pages
Almost every house has newspaper in it. if you are in a hurry or can’t get to the market to buy some fancy wrapping sheets, than get that newspaper out of the pile of papers and get to work. Wrap it around your gift nicely and on it tie any coloured ribbon. I would suggest if the newspaper is old go for a brown or beige ribbon and if it is new than black ribbon would be perfect. Also if you have some useless magazines lying around, use them. Take our some nice writing and colourful page with images and wrap it around the gift. Now use any matching ribbon to complete the look.
Left over jewelry piece
Any leftover or broken jewelry piece would be a great addition to our wrapping project. If you have an earring without its partner or may be a pearl or bead, you can fix it at the end of the ribbon with a glue or thread. This will take the whole thing to a more classier level making it look more expensive and also thoughtful.
Plants and flowers
Plants and flowers are not just to be decorated on your terrace or in the garden. They can be used for wrapping presents too. Take some leaves, put them in a heavy book and close the book for a few hours. This will straighten the leaves and you can glue them on your wrapping sheet or even a plain white computer paper. If you take some flowers and cut them by keeping the stem a little longer, you can also combine some flowers, tie them with a thread and glue them on the front of your gift wrap.
Lace and pompoms
Lace and pompoms is yet another very cheap at-home trick of wrapping presents. Get some lace from your clothing pieces box or the sewing machine and either simply wrap the present with it or make some design out of it. You can also mix the ribbon, some beads and the lace together to make it appear very crafty and artistic.
Try out these very easy tricks and delight your loved ones with your creative skills meanwhile also making them feel special.
